A Cordial Welcome to the New Students | Registration of CHKUSZ MSc in Data Science Programme Class of 2022
On August 30 and 31, 2022, MSc in Data Science Programme of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen welcomed the class of 2022 to join the big family.
Registration Day
On August 30, 2022, the new students of the MSc in Data Science programme completed their registration at the Daoyuan Building of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen and will start their new campus life.
Crossing over mountains and waters, the new students finally gather at the campus. Their new lives full of anticipation will start soon after registration. The programme wishes that, in the future, they will all dwell in the world they love and shine brightly.
In order to welcome the new students, the MSc in Data Science programme and the admissions team of SFI prepared a special souvenir gift bag for each new student. We are looking forward to growing together with you in the next two years.
Welcoming Day
On August 31, 2022, in order to help students to know about the campus and the programme better, get familiar with the curriculum, and make future plans, the MSc in Data Science programme arranged an orientation activity for all new students.
Message from the Director
First of all, on behalf of the whole programme, I would like to welcome all of you and hope you learn more knowledge, get more experiences, and have more gains in the next two years.

First of all, I would like to thank the students. In recent years, our programme has been developing and progressing steadily, and it is all because of your efforts. I would also like to thank our two schools and two research institutes: School of Data Science, School of Economics and Management, Shenzhen Finance Institute, and Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data for their support. Now the national development strategic plan is driven by data, and artificial intelligence is the future direction of development. Simply rely on algorithmic computing power, or data single structure is not enough. That is why we need data science, it can help students to be able to harness these three, and to combine them organically, to achieve better intelligent applications in the future. Finally, I wish all of you a good life in school and a good career or PhD in your dream place.

Programme Introduction
Prof. Zhang Bohui introduced the members of the programme, the lecturers and the overall overview of the class of 2022, helping students to get to know teachers better and to get acquainted with their classmates.
Professor Mao Jianfeng introduced the curriculum and course selection rules to help students have a clearer idea of their course planning.
In addition to academic sharing, the programme also invited Li Miao from the Career Development Center (CDC) to give guidance on future career direction. As the career development center, CDC is committed to improving students' employability, sorting out students' career planning, organizing career counseling courses, and building internship and employment platforms to help students enter the society easily and realize their dreams.
