Shenzhen Finance Institute Summer Camp Now Open for Application
Master of Science in Data Science programme at CUHKSZ aims to equip students with fundamental theoretical knowledge and professional skills in big data and business analytics. By exposing them to the cutting-edge theories and methods that underpin big data technologies, the programme enables students to make full use of their knowledge to solve problems related to big data acquisition, management and analysis in business, government, security, healthcare, biology, natural sciences, environment, and other fields.
Advantages
▶ Globally recognized ranking. The program is ranked first in China, second in Asia and 23rd globally in the QS2023 Master of Business Analytics rankings.
▶ MSc in Data Science is a joint programme launched by School of Data Science and School of Management and Economics, in collaboration with Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data and Shenzhen Finance Institute. Faculty members from two schools and research institutes will serve as instructors together.
▶ Scene + Technology. The project pays attention to the learning of big data and artificial intelligence technology, but also takes into account their application in the traditional financial and economic fields.
▶ Academy+ industry. In addition to academic mentors, the program has industry mentors and alumni mentors to provide multi-dimensional support to students.
▶ Capstone Project. The unique Capstone Project applies the analytics, techniques and tools that learned in class to reality use, while incorporating the vibrant business and technology environment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
▶ Employment. 100% employment rete was achieved in three consecutive years. The average salary of the class of 2022 is RMB 343,000/year, with a median value of RMB 350,000/year.
Summer Camp
The annual SFI summer camp (open to juniors only) is designed to select the best students from around the world and make pre-admission offers to the MSc programme. During the summer camp, students will engage with top faculty and premier commercial enterprises, capped by a challenging case study. Following this, written exams/interviews will be held and students with excellent performance will have the chance to earn a pre-admission offer and entrance scholarship, with the highest entrance scholarship covering 100% tuition fees. The Summer Camp is now open for application.
Application Requirements
Applicants must meet the following three requirements.
1. Junior student (graduating in 2024), any majors;
2. For “985” or “211” University Students, their academic results of the first 2 years (or the first 5 semesters) must rank TOP 50%; for non- “985” or “211” University Students, their academic results of the first 2 years (or the first 5 semesters) must rank TOP 10%;
3. English Language Proficiency Requirement:
· CET-4 (not lower than 550); OR
· CET-6 (not lower than 520); OR
· IELTS (Academic) (not lower than Band 6.5); OR
· TOEFL (not lower than 79); OR
· GMAT(Verbal) (not lower than 21); OR
· Other equivalent.

7. At least two Recommendation Letters. An email will be sent to the recommender automatically after submitting the application, the recommender will follow the email instructions to submit the Recommendation Letter.

9. Upload 1-minute self-introduction video in English.
* The application fee is 100 RMB. No refund is provided. Applicants can check the application status in the system.
* Qualification for recommended postgraduate student is not required.

* The application has no restriction on students' undergraduate backgrounds or majors, and interdisciplinary students are very welcome to apply, so please apply as early as possible.
▶ Arrangement
* The camp offers a maximum reimbursement of 500 RMB per person for transportation expenses, limited to bus tickets, hard seat and hard sleeper train tickets, second class tickets for high-speed train tickets, or economy class plane tickets. Please wait for further notice for the reimbursement procedure. If the event is changed to online mode due to pandemic or other force majeure, the reimbursement will no longer be provided.
