XU Ning

Class of 2020 Data Scientist
Shopee (Singapore)

Once I entered SFI, every time I stood at the gate of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, I recalled the summer camp experience one year ago. At that time, the world seemed like an unsolved puzzle, and every choice would lead me towards a completely different destiny. Then I chose CUHK-Shenzhen instead of Fudan University; I chose deep reinforcement learning as main research field instead of CV and NLP; I chose to develop WeChat mini-game by myself and gave up the internship in the company DiDi. Today I live a full life, which is the extension of my previous key choices.

I have gradually fallen in love with the enthusiastic and expert professors, cheerful and motivated students, the beautiful campus scenery, and even the lazy cats downstairs, basking in the sun every day. It is such a great environment for both learning and living. I hope I can be ready to fit in society here. And I will continue to work hard, as stated in the Biography of Zhou Yu in the Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms, "Dragon gets clouds and rain, so in the end it is not something in the pool."
