RECRUITMENT SCHEDULE

In late March 2025, the School of Data Science of CUHK (SZ) will successively visit Wuhan University, Xi 'an Jiaotong University, Xidian University, University of Science and Technology of China, Nanjing University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, East China Normal University, etc., for master's and doctoral program enrollment promotion.

These institutions enjoy a national reputation and are highly respected for their academic strength and talent cultivation. The recruitment promotion activities of the School of Data Science will provide more opportunities for students to communicate and learn.

The School of Data Science is the core base of artificial intelligence research and teaching of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), covering the basic education fields of artificial intelligence such as computer science, statistics and big data science. The school has an international and top-notch faculty team, including more than 80 full-time professors from all over the world, of which more than 35% of the professors are academicians, fellows or global top scientists. They have outstanding academic achievements in the frontier fields of artificial intelligence such as machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision, and have had a profound impact in the international academia and industry.

The Master's and doctoral programs of the School of Data Science are closely aligned with the latest trends in the development of artificial intelligence technology, covering multiple cutting-edge fields including data science, financial engineering, artificial intelligence and robotics, computer science and statistics. The School adheres to a global vision and practical needs, and through systematic curriculum design, trains students with a solid academic foundation and flexible interdisciplinary application ability, so that they can stand out in the rapidly changing science and technology industry.

Currently, the school offers taught master's programs including:

Each program is an application system, students do not need to participate in the national unified entrance examination for postgraduate students, do not need to maintain postgraduate qualifications, and graduate with the "Chinese University of Hong Kong" certified by the Ministry of Education. The program will adopt a rolling enrollment system and can be applied as early as possible.

02 Introduction to the Master of Science in Data Science program

The Master of Science in Data Science program is jointly offered by the School of Data Science and the School of Economics and Management of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), in collaboration with the Shenzhen Institute of Big Data and the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Finance. The program aims to enable students to master the basic theoretical knowledge and professional skills in big data and business analysis, and to contact the cutting-edge theories and methods supporting big data technology, especially the innovative application in the field of artificial intelligence. Students will learn how to use AI technology for data mining, pattern recognition, and predictive analytics, and will be able to apply their knowledge to solve problems related to big data collection, management, and analysis in business, government, security, healthcare, biology, natural sciences, and the environment. Through the deep integration of AI and big data technology, students will be equipped to tackle complex data challenges and maintain a competitive edge in their future careers. Students can participate in industry internships, laboratory research, overseas exchanges, or take more courses during their studies. Outstanding faculty from the two schools and the research Institute will work together as project teachers to ensure that students gain cutting-edge knowledge and practical experience in the field of artificial intelligence and data science.
